Finite element analysis in your browser
FEA Lab is a browser-native finite element workspace. Build a model, mesh it, solve it, and read the result — with benchmark validation and traceable exports at every step.
A solver you can actually check
FEA Lab ships a NAFEMS benchmark suite that runs in-page and gates every release: 26 of 26 headless cases pass, including LE1 (elliptic membrane) and Cook's membrane; the Scordelis-Lo shell case stays open and is reported honestly. A number you cannot reproduce against a published reference is not a result — it is a guess with a decimal point. Every solve in FEA Lab is comparable to something published.
The analyses engineers actually run
Static linear and nonlinear (J2 plasticity) analysis, contact, modal and transient dynamics, explicit dynamics, thermal and thermo-mechanical coupling, buckling and stability, and composite laminates with progressive damage run end to end in production. Fracture ships as LEFM post-processing and level-set crack-path tracking (no enriched XFEM assembly yet), acoustics covers a 1-D uniform tube, and FSI is a lumped stagnation-pressure model — every solver declares its exact limits in the capability contract instead of overclaiming. Solvers run locally in your browser, in parallel, with no upload and no account.
Results you can trace
Every result carries its provenance: the solver that produced it, a hash of the result payload, the benchmark digest, and the exact input envelope. Export to OpenUSD for DCC handoff, VTK for ParaView, and CSV for a spreadsheet — with the provenance record attached.
Runs where you work
FEA Lab is a web app and a native macOS application. The same solver core, the same capability contract, the same validation gates — on the browser at fealab.jambudweep.tech or offline in the Mac app.
Frequently asked questions
- Is FEA Lab free?
- The core analysis workspace runs in the browser with no account required for a first run. Paid tiers add team collaboration, cloud execution on large meshes, and enterprise licensing.
- Do I need to upload my model to a server?
- No. Solvers execute locally in your browser. Your geometry and mesh stay on your machine unless you explicitly use a cloud execution feature.
- How do I know the solver is correct?
- FEA Lab runs a published NAFEMS benchmark suite as an in-app gate — 26 of 26 headless cases pass, including LE1 (elliptic membrane) and Cook's membrane; the Scordelis-Lo shell case remains open and is reported as such. Results also carry solver and payload provenance.
- What can I export?
- OpenUSD (.usdc/.usda) for DCC and game-engine handoff, VTK for ParaView, and CSV for spreadsheets and plotting tools.
- Does FEA Lab have a macOS app?
- Yes. The native macOS application ships the same solver core with offline operation and OpenUSD-native authoring.
